Heike “Meaning of Wealth” Management
Welcome to my first blog. This has been a long time coming, and I’ve been struggling to come up with topics to write about. After much consideration, I’ve decided to blog each week about one of the things that I love the most. My clients.
When people think of wealth, they tend to first think about money, but wealth comes in many forms. Each week, I plan to blog about some of the other forms of wealth, stemming from one of my meetings throughout the week. Here goes nothing!
“Patience is waiting. Not passively waiting. That is laziness. But to keep going when the going is hard and slow—that is patience.” -Unknown
Several years ago, a young husband and wife were so excited about where they worked that, when presented with the opportunity, they bought the business and dove in head-first. Being young and without counsel, they agreed to everything that was drawn up in the contract. Several years later, they started to realize that the deal wasn’t quite as sweet as it originally seemed. Amid raising a family, running the business, and drowning in overhead from the business transition, they did what a lot of people don’t do nowadays.
They buckled down, lived within their means, worked hard, and stayed patient. As they outgrew their house, they put their dreams of a new house on hold. They remained focused on consistently delivering a quality product and building a trusted brand. Last week, they made the final payment on the business! The weight has been lifted.
While they are on their way to achieving financial wealth, they plan to use some of their excess funds to invest in a currency more valuable than money. Time. With each other. With their kids. With themselves. That is wealth.
Oh, and they’ll probably work toward moving into that dream house that they put off for so long. It is well-deserved.
Thank you for taking us with you on your journey. We look forward to your next chapter in life. -Cheers
